Position: Teacher Aide

Position Summary: The Teacher Aide is responsible for providing teacher support in the classroom. The Teacher Aide also provides a safe, pleasant, active learning, and problem-solving environment.

Responsibilities:

Assume the role of Teacher Aide during absences.
Assist in classroom management.
Assist in daily classroom activities and provide classroom support.
Assist in implementation of the curriculum including active learning and practices that are developmentally appropriate.
Assist in implementation of oral health practices.
Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.
Experience in a child care environment is preferred.

Required Skills:

Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public and agency employees.
Excellent communication skills.
Model appropriate and professional behavior.

Schedule/Hours: No set schedule, position is substitute, or as needed. Generally, hours are between 8 am and 3 pm, M-F. Position can lead to regular employment for the right candidate if a position becomes available.

Pay Rate: The starting base rate of pay per hour is $15.25.
