Seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Head Start Teacher Aide, assisting in the classroom and supporting young learners’ growth and development.

Position: Teacher Aide

Program and Location: McCook Head Start Center, McCook

Position Summary: The Teacher Aide is responsible for providing teacher support in the classroom. The Teacher Aide also provides a safe, pleasant, active learning, and problem-solving environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assume the role and responsibility of other center positions during staff absences
• Assist in classroom management.
• Assist in daily classroom activities and provide classroom support.
• Assist in implementation of the curriculum including active learning and practices that are developmentally appropriate.
• Assist in implementation of oral health practices.
• Be actively engaged in all Head Start activities and model appropriate behavior.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in a child care environment is preferred.

Required Skills:

• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the general public and agency employees.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Model appropriate and professional behavior.

Schedule/Hours: 37 hours per week for 36 weeks per year. Scheduled hours are generally between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, M-F with some flexibility. This position has summers off.

Pay Rate: The entry-level rate of pay per hour is $15.38.
